Life is hard.

Being a farm is hard. Being a parent is hard. Being married is hard. For us as of late, all of the above is true. Bit of a rough weekend of working on bettering our family.  Going through trials and hurt has and will continue to make us stronger, and help us to come closer to God. This week will be one of healing and growing together, as partners, parents, and as a farm. We had two Farmer's Markets this weekend! A whole lot of work, and a whole lot of time put into both of them. Our garden will start...

Strokes.

So I want to take this opportunity to talk a little bit about a cause that is very close to us.  Pediatric Stroke Awareness.  Many of you are aware that Mae suffered a stroke at birth which left her with a brain injury.  This brain injury has resulted in a lifetime of hurdles that our little girl will be forced to endure.  There is no doubt in my mind that she won't be fine.  In the 2.5 years or so that I have come to know her I can truly say that she is so smart, so special, and so...

Sleep, we got it!

Thankfully, even though Mae ended up in the bed at 1, she slept extremely well until almost 7. Thank goodness because between her early morning antics and a super busy day at the vet I was beyond exhausted. Every time we thought we had caught up, another emergency walked in. Sleep, who needs it.

Sleep, who needs it.

So we were woken up at about 1:30am this morning by the cutest, smartest, most stubborn little 2.5 year old there is. Miss Mae decided it was going to be time to wake up at 1:30am.  She was so excited to go downstairs and practice her new matching flash cards.  We tried a few times to get her to stay asleep but were quite unsuccessful.  Needless to say we are running on fumes and caffeine today so this blog is going to be short. We are looking to schedule to fall/winter markets to sell at this year.  So farm we...

Farm to farm table.

Today was a good day.  Mae slept well, we all slept well.  We woke up about 6, maybe a little after.  Morning chores and a breakfast made up of eggs from our girls and cheese and milk from Marilyn, along with scallions from our garden.  Very tasty.   We all got cleaned up and got dressed for church.  Mae loves church.  Mostly because she gets to go and play in the playroom for an hour with some of the other kids from church. After church we came back home and had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch.  Then some...
